Dissolve the yeast in 3 tablespoons warm milk with 1 tablespoon sugar
Place the flour in a bowl
Make a depression in the center and add the dissolved yeast mixture
Mix in some of the flour
Let it rise
Melt the butter
Heat the milk, add the melted butter, and mix in the flour along with the egg
Beat until bubbles form and lift away from the sides of the bowl
Dust with flour
Cover with a cloth and let it rise to double its size
Dust the cloth with flour and shape the dough into round loaves about the size of a hamburger patty
Cover and let it rise for 10 minutes
Fry in plenty of oil
Serve with blackberry compote or other fruit.
