Combine flour, yeast, confectioners' sugar, and baking soda in a bowl, mixing well
In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, melted butter or oil, egg yolks, melted chocolate, and vanilla extract
Gently combine these two mixtures, stirring well
If desired, chill the mixture before shaping the dream bars
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness, using two cookie cutters of different sizes
Use the smaller cutter to create a hole in the center of each piece, forming a ring shape
Fry in hot oil for 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown
Place on paper towels
Just before serving, dust with confectioner's sugar
