Chop the cabbage leaves into small pieces and set aside
Fry the garlic in olive oil until golden and add the chopped cabbage
Simmer for 3 minutes, stirring constantly
Add the cornmeal and cook over low heat for 3 minutes, stirring constantly
Add the water gradually and cook well, until the cornmeal is cooked
Season with salt to taste
If desired, add ground malagueta pepper to taste
Serves 4 to 6 people.
