1 teaspoon of sweet paprika

In a pot, combine the corn and water and cook with the lid on
Drain the water by passing it through a strainer and reserve the corn
Place the onion and milk in a pot and cook in a simmering water bath
Cook until the milk is boiling
Remove from heat and pass through a strainer
Reserve the milk
Melt the butter, combine with flour, seasonings, and corn
Stir well until it's hot
Remove from heat
Add the milk and blend in a blender
Strain over a pot and simmer to warm
Serve hot
