1 tablespoon butter or margarine
2 cups of peeled tomatoes, cut into pieces
6 cups of beef broth

Blend the tomatoes and garlic in a blender until smooth
Sauté the onion and garlic in butter or margarine until lightly browned
Add the tomato mixture to the beef broth and simmer slowly for 20 minutes
Serve hot.
