1 egg
1 3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon grated lime zest
1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
750g ground beef
1/4 stick butter or margarine
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 egg
1 3/4 cup milk

In a large bowl, beat the egg with 1/2 cup milk
Add the all-purpose flour, salt, lime zest, and chopped onion
Mix well
Add the ground beef and mix until just combined
Form meatballs about the size of an almond
In a large skillet, pan-fry the meatballs in hot butter until browned
As they brown, remove them from the skillet
In the same skillet, add the all-purpose flour
Stir well
Gradually add the remaining milk and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened
Season with salt
Add the meatballs back to the skillet
Cover and simmer for 5 minutes
Sprinkle with parsley
Serve with macaroni or rice
Yield: 6-8 servings
Note: For serving, serve a buttered roll on the side.
