Wash the mushrooms thoroughly
Place them in a small saucepan and cover with water
Cook over medium heat, allowing the mixture to come to a boil, then simmer until the mushrooms are tender. Reserve
In another pan, fry the onion in butter or margarine until it starts to brown
Add the drained mushrooms and cook for about 2 minutes
Add 4 tablespoons of water from cooking the mushrooms
Add the cream and stir well
Taste with salt and black pepper as needed
Remove from heat and mix with cooked, drained macaroni while still warm
Serves 8 people.
