1 cup of uncooked rice

Salt and black pepper to taste

Cook the rice in boiling water with salt until it's tender
Drain
While still warm, add the butter and mix well
Add the egg, chives, salt, and black pepper to taste
Mix well
Spread thinly at the bottom of a baking dish
Place in a preheated oven at moderate temperature (170°F) and bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly browned
Let cool and cut into desired size and shape, suitable for use as any cracker
The topping can be similar to that of any common sandwich.
