Mixed dough for cake
8 pineapples
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
a pinch of cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
zest from 1/2 lemon
two tablespoons butter or margarine
whipped heavy cream (optional)
Mixed dough for cake
8 pineapples

Furnish a cake pan with a diameter of about 9 inches with half the dough
Peel the pineapples, remove the centers, and cut into slices
Place the pineapple slices over the dough in the cake pan, leaving more slices in the center
Top with small pieces of butter
Cover with the remaining dough
Bake in a hot oven for 15 to 20 minutes, then reduce heat and bake an additional 20-30 minutes until the dough is golden brown and the pineapples are tender
Serve warm or cold, and if desired, serve with whipped cream
