Mix the chocolate chips, bar chocolate, sugar, and salt together with boiling water in a saucepan
(Best to grind the bar chocolate.) Stir and heat until the chocolate and sugar are dissolved
Let it boil for 3 minutes
Remove from heat and beat vigorously, preferably with an electric mixer
Add the egg and beat again
Add the butter and beat
Heat it up again and let it simmer over low heat for 10 minutes
Add vanilla
Pour into a glass jar and refrigerate
Can be used in drinks and as a topping for ice cream
Yields 1 liter of syrup.
