1 kg of tuna cut into 1 cm thick slices

For the sauce
1 teaspoon of sugar
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
3 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tablespoons of olive oil
4 medium tomatoes (480g), seeded and chopped
1/3 cup of water (80ml)

Season the tuna slices with salt and black pepper
Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil
Grill two slices at a time in a hot skillet over low heat until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side
Flip and cook until cooked through, or until it flakes easily when pierced with a fork, about 8 minutes total
Keep warm
Prepare the sauce: dissolve sugar in lemon juice and set aside
In a medium pan, sauté garlic in olive oil until golden brown
Add tomato, water, reserved lemon juice, and salt
Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes
Place tuna on a platter and drizzle with tomato sauce
Serve immediately
