In a large skillet, bring the water and grated Minas cheese to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally until dissolved (about 5 minutes)
Add the bananas, reduce heat, cover, and cook until they're tender (about 8 minutes)
Distribute the shredded Minas cheese over the bananas, cover, and keep on heat until melted (about 2 minutes)
If desired, sprinkle cinnamon on top and serve
