1/2 kg of strawberries, or 4 small bananas, or 5 ripe bananas

4 slices of bread, 1 cm thick, toasted
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of grated lemon zest
3 tablespoons of butter

If using strawberries, wash, clean, and cut in half
Bananas should be cut into slices that are not too thin
Place the fruit in a baking dish
Dust with sugar and drizzle with lemon juice
Remove the bread crusts and cut into 1 cm cubes
Cover the fruit with the bread cubes
Dust with brown sugar and grated lemon zest
Distribute butter in small pieces on top
Bake in a moderate oven, preheated, for 2 to 5 minutes, or until the bread cubes are lightly toasted
Serve warm, with whipped cream if desired
Serves 4 to 6 people.
