In a bowl, cream together the peanut butter, butter or margarine, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy
Add in vanilla extract and egg, and mix well
Sift together flour, baking soda, and yeast, then add to the creamy mixture and mix well
If the dough becomes too dry, add an additional 1/2 cup of margarine and re-mix
If the dough becomes too wet (depending on the consistency of peanut butter), refrigerate it
Use a spoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet
Bake in a moderate oven (170°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown
Place one colorful candy piece into each cookie and let cool on a tray
Yield approximately 60 cookies.
