1 cup of milk (120 g)
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour (60 g)
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
2 tablespoons of melted butter (30 g)
1/4 cup of milk (60 ml)
Syrup
2 cups of sugar (360 g)
1 cup of water (240 ml)
5 crushed cardamom pods
Oil for frying

In a bowl, mix together the milk, flour, baking soda, and melted butter
Gradually add in the milk and work the dough until it becomes homogeneous
Divide the dough into 20 small balls
Heat the oil and fry the balls until they are golden brown
Drain on paper towels
Syrup
In a saucepan, combine all the ingredients and bring to a medium heat until the sugar dissolves
Let it simmer for five minutes or until a thin syrup forms
Transfer the syrup to a bowl and add the fried balls
Let it rest overnight
Serve at room temperature.
