Preheat the oven to moderate temperature (170°C)
Grease and flour two round forms with 20 cm diameter
In a large bowl, combine the cake mix and milk
Mix well and beat at medium speed for 2 minutes
Scrape down the bowl and beaters
Add the egg whites and vanilla
Beat for another 2 minutes
Spread the batter into the prepared forms
Bake in a moderate oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
Let cool in the pans for 10 minutes and then unmold
Allow to cool completely
Prepare the frosting of your choice and spread a layer between the two cakes that should be stacked
