1 cup of butter or margarine

1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 cup of buttermilk
3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 pound of black plum, seedless and chopped
1/2 pound of candied orange peel, chopped
2 cups of hazelnuts, chopped
1 package of 100g of grated coconut (unsweetened)
1 cup of orange juice
2 cups of confectioner's sugar
1 cup of butter or margarine

Beat the butter or margarine and sugar very well
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
Dissolve the baking soda in buttermilk and add it to the mixture
Combine the flour, black plum, candied orange peel, and hazelnuts in a large bowl; mix well
Add the coconut and butter mixture; mix until compact
Mix with your hands as needed
Pour into an 8-inch square baking dish greased and floured
Bake at moderate heat (150°C) for about 2 hours
Mix the orange juice with confectioner's sugar and pour over the warm cake.
