8 medium beetroot

salt and black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Wash the beetroot and slice it finely
Place in a large pan or frying pan, with the sliced onion, wine, butter, salt, pepper, and lemon juice
Cover and let simmer
Cook until the beetroot is tender but still firm
