5 slices of bacon
1 large onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup of green pepper, finely chopped
1/2 cup of red pepper, finely chopped
1 cup of all-purpose flour
2 cups of milk
4 eggs
1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
500 grams of cooked tortellini pasta
Butter or margarine for greasing

Cook the bacon until crispy
Drain excess fat
Set aside 2 tablespoons of the reserved fat and chop the bacon finely
Sauté the onion in the reserved fat until golden brown
Add the cooked bacon, green pepper, and red pepper to the mixture
Gradually add the flour, stirring constantly
Add the milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens
Beat the eggs lightly and add the Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg
Mix well
Combine the pasta, egg mixture, and cooked bacon in a large bowl
Mix well
Grease a 23cm diameter cake pan with butter or margarine and press the mixture into it, gently
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 30 minutes, or until golden brown
Unmold onto a round plate and serve
Optional: garnish with chopped green pepper
