Remove the butter from the refrigerator before starting to work, so it doesn't become too hard
Beat well
Add the eggs, beating continuously
Add sugar to the mixture, beating always until a cream forms
Add unsweetened chocolate to the mixture, beating until a dark color and firm consistency are achieved
Finely grind the wafers, using about 3/4 of the package, leaving behind any crumbs
Add to the previous mixture, mixing well
Heat the chopped pecans in a pan with sugar over low heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and forms a golden syrup
Pour onto a greased surface and let cool
Beat with an electric mixer to shred finely
Add to the chocolate mass with crystallized fruit, beaten into small pieces
On a clean towel, shape into a log form
Wrap in the towel and refrigerate for at least one day before serving
To serve, cut into thin slices.
