Two cups of sugar
3/4 cup of hot water
a pinch of salt
one cup of peanut shells removed
three tablespoons (of soup) of butter or margarine
Mix the sugar, water, and salt in a saucepan and stir over low heat until the sugar dissolves
Cook on low heat until it reaches the point of soft-balling stage
Remove from heat and let cool slightly
While this is happening, chop the peanuts (not too fine) and toast them together with the butter in a hot oven for 8 to 10 minutes
Add the peanuts with the remaining butter to the mixture before and beat it in a mixer or blender until the mixture loses its shine when a small amount, falling from the spoon, maintains its shape
Pour into a lightly greased rectangular mold (approximately 27 cm x 12 cm) when cool
Cut into squares.
