2 cups of sugar
2/3 cup of heavy cream or long-life cream
1 cup of milk
4 spoons (tablespoons) of Karo
1 spoon (teaspoon) of vanilla
80 grams of bittersweet chocolate, chopped

Melt the sugar, heavy cream, milk, and Karo in a large saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves
Let it simmer gently, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reaches the soft-ball stage
Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes
Add vanilla
Beat vigorously until the mixture starts to thicken and loses its sheen (takes about 5 minutes)
Pour half of the mixture into a well-greased 18x18 cm square baking dish
Dust with half of the chopped chocolate
Pour the remaining mixture over the top and dust with the remaining chocolate
Let it cool completely
Cut into small squares, about 2 cm each
Yield: 81 pieces.
