Wash the figs thoroughly and pat them dry
Cut the figs in half
In a large skillet, combine the sugar, red wine, and cinnamon; mix well
Place the skillet over low heat and, when it starts to simmer, carefully place the fig half down
Allow it to cook for 10 minutes without stirring, then turn off the heat
Gently flip the fig and distribute it with the sauce in individual serving dishes
Serve with vanilla ice cream.
