16 fresh figs, peeled and cut into pieces

2 cups granulated sugar

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and stir until the sugar dissolves
Cook, stirring occasionally, until it reaches a gelée consistency
After cooling, place in sterilized jars
Serve chilled or at room temperature.
