24 ripe figs
3 cups of sugar
1 cup of water
24 ripe figs
3 cups of sugar

Pit the ripe figs
Cut them in half and remove the seeds
Bring to a boil with a little water, so they don't become too mushy
Strain through a bamboo sieve, if possible
Cook the sugar with the water over heat until it reaches a fine syrup
Add the figs and cook for a bit longer to thicken the syrup
