In a large pot with water, add the crab
In the same pot, add the shrimp heads and shells to cook
When the crab is tender, remove it, drain and reserve 1/2 cup of broth
Pass the crab through a food processor to obtain a puree
Add the reserved broth to the puree and mix
Season the cleaned shrimp with lemon juice, salt, and garlic
In a large skillet, heat the butter with oil, add the thinly sliced onions and reduce heat
Cover the skillet and cook until the onions are soft and golden brown
Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 5 minutes at high heat
Add the crab puree, peppers, and cilantro, mix well, and let it warm up
