2 pounds beef brisket, peeled and sliced into thin strips
2 cups red wine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon grated lime zest
1/4 cup vodka (optional)
2 pounds beef brisket, peeled and sliced into thin strips

Combine the red wine with the brown sugar in a large pot
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer
Add the beef strips and cook until they're tender but still firm
Remove from heat, stir in lime zest and vodka (if using)
Let cool, then refrigerate
