Cut the rind of the melon and carefully remove the seeds
Fill the melon with wine, put the rind back on, wrap in transparent paper, and let it sit in the refrigerator for a day or two
Pour out the wine into a bowl
Slice the melon into wedges and spread the wine over the top
Let it sit at room temperature for 6 to 8 hours
To serve as dessert, serve with whipped cream and sorbet.
