4 large onions sliced into thin rings and then into pieces
8 tablespoons of butter or margarine
1 tablespoon of caraway (Kummel)
4 tablespoons of lemon juice
salt to taste

In a pan, combine the onions and butter or margarine
Add the caraway (Kummel)
Cover the pan and cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally
Remove from heat, add the lemon juice and salt to taste
Mix well
Yield approximately 2 3/4 cups
