In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, and salt
Set aside
Preheat oven to moderate (350°F)
Line 12 muffin cups with paper liners
Melt the butter, then mix it with the egg, vanilla extract, chopped pecans, and whole milk until smooth
Add the flour mixture, stirring quickly to combine
Fold in the chocolate chips and cajun pecans
Divide batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups
Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
Let cool
Dust with orange zest and colored granulated sugar
Release from liners, let cool completely, then wrap individually with plastic wrap and tie with cotton string.
