6 fillets of painted fish seasoned with Salt to taste and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
3/4 cup of breadcrumbs
1/2 cup of olive oil
1 cup of boiling water
2 medium onions, sliced into thin rings
1 green pepper, seeded, sliced
1/2 cup of vinegar
2 tablespoons of garlic
1 tablespoon of mustard
2 teaspoons of salt
Paprika seasoning to taste
Crisp paprika for garnish

Season the fish fillets with Salt and coat in breadcrumbs
In a large skillet, heat half of the olive oil over medium heat
Add the fish fillets and fry until golden brown on both sides. Reserve
In a pot with boiling water, cook the onions and pepper for three minutes
Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer
Add the fish fillets and the remaining olive oil, stirring to combine
Transfer to a refrigerator, cover with plastic wrap, and chill until cold
Serve chilled, garnished with paprika and served with Italian bread
Serves 6 portions
If you prefer sea fish, substitute painted fish for sea bass.
