Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into uniform pieces
Place in a pot with cold water, salt, and cook until they're tender
Dissolve the soup in hot milk and reserve
Pass the warm sweet potato through a ricer and add the milk and black pepper
Mix well and check the consistency
If the purée is too thick, add more cold milk; if it's too thin, return the pot to the heat and let it thicken
Serve immediately.
