In a small bowl, whisk eggs lightly
Set aside
In a large saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt
Mix well
Add milk gradually, stirring constantly to dissolve cornstarch
Bring to medium heat and cook without stopping until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth
Place about 1/2 cup of this cream over eggs and mix well to incorporate
Return this mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the cream returns to being thick and homogeneous
Remove from heat and add vanilla extract and chocolate chunks
Stir until dissolved and the mixture becomes smooth
Let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour and 30 minutes
