4 large oranges
1 ripe pear large
1 ripe banana large
1/4 cup of sugar

Peel a thin layer from the orange rind and cut into fine strips
Place in a small saucepan; add enough water to cover
Cook slowly for 15 minutes; strain
While the peel cooks, remove the white membrane from the peeled orange and peel the remaining ones; cut into pieces over a bowl, so as not to lose the juice
Add the pieces to the bowl
Peel the pear, remove the seeds and cut it
Peel the banana and cut into slices
Add the oranges
Add sugar to the cooked orange peel
Cook slowly, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves
Add the hot mixture to the fruits and stir well
Refrigerate
Serve in cups and garnish with 1/2 nut if desired
Serves 6 portions.
