2 cups of lentils
3 slices of bacon

1/2 cup of balsamic vinegar (available at supermarkets)
1/2 cup of honey
2 pears
Salt and black pepper to taste

Place the lentils in a pot, then add the bacon, chopped onion, rosemary sprigs, and thyme leaves
Cover with cold water and cook over low heat until the lentils are tender but still firm
If necessary, add hot water in small increments during cooking
Season with salt and black pepper, then drain and reserve
Mix the balsamic vinegar with honey and bring to a simmer over low heat
Let it cool
When serving, place the lentils in a bowl and drizzle with the reduced vinegar sauce
Cut the pears into four pieces and decorate the bowl.
