2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (300 g)
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces (100 g)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
1 1/2 tablespoons grated ginger
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Vanilla sugar for dusting
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (300 g)
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces (100 g)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
1 1/2 tablespoons grated ginger
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Vanilla sugar for dusting
Mix all ingredients, except vanilla sugar, in a processor or by hand until you get a firm dough
Shape into a circle with a diameter of about 11.5 inches and place the dough on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a 1.5-inch border free (no need to grease)
Make shallow cuts without separating them, as if they were slices
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown
Remove from the oven and, with a knife, complete the cuts
Let cool and dust with vanilla sugar or common sugar
If desired, serve with vanilla ice cream
