3 cups of beef broth (or dissolved beef cubes in 3 cups of boiling water)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon Aji-no-moto
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 pound lean pork, cut into thin slices
1 small cabbage, cut into strips
3 stalks of green onions (scallions), cut into thin rings
3 bunches of green onions with white parts cut into thin rings and green parts finely chopped
1 tablespoon butter or margarine

Place the beef broth, soy sauce, Aji-no-moto, and black pepper in a pot
Bring to a boil, then add the sliced pork and let simmer for 5 minutes
Add the cabbage strips and let simmer until heated through
Add the green onions and their white parts
Let simmer for 1 minute, then stir in the butter or margarine and mix well
If desired, add more soy sauce and sprinkle with chopped green onion
Note: feel free to make variations
You can also add 250g of cooked and seasoned vermicelli (angel hair pasta) for added texture
Serve 4-6 servings.
