In a pot, cook the beans in water with 1/2 tablespoon of salt for 15 minutes or until tender
Drain and reserve
In a mortar, mash the garlic, olive oil, and anchovy fillets together to form a coarse paste
Combine with the beans and season with salt
Serve over slices of Portuguese bread.
