1 cup all-purpose flour

black pepper to taste

Peel and slice the onions into 6 mm thick rings
Separate the rings into rings and let them soak in milk (enough to cover) for 30 minutes
Drain the onions
Mix together the flour, salt, and black pepper, then coat the onion rings with this mixture
Fry the onion rings in hot oil until they are golden brown
Serve immediately
