4 cups of water

2 pounds of ripe red goiabas

Cut the goiabas in half, pit them and remove the seeds.In a copper pot, place the water and sugar
Bring to a boil to obtain the syrup consistency
Without extinguishing the flame, add the goiaba carefully and gradually
Let it cook for 15 minutes or until it's soft but still holds its shape
Remove the pieces with a skimmer and let it cool
To store, drain some of the syrup into the bottom of the glass jar and then fill with the goiabas and the rest of the syrup
Close and store in the refrigerator.
