Season the beef, after being thoroughly washed, with salt and thyme
Butter it well, place it in a baking dish, and put it in the hot oven, constantly basting it with the proper gravy that forms in the baking dish
After about an hour or so, it should be nicely browned on the outside and pink on the inside
Serve it cut into thin slices, on a platter, with the gravy served separately, in a gravy boat
