In a medium pot, combine the pumpkin, water, and salt and bring to a boil over high heat until tender (about 15 minutes)
Strain, transfer to a blender, and blend until smooth
Return to the pot, add milk, stir well, and simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes
Add macaroni and cook until al dente (about 20 minutes)
Remove from heat, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and mix well
Transfer to a tureen and serve immediately
